About Us

Big Stitch Events Ltd was established in 2022 when like minded crafters came together with an idea like no other. We wanted to create an event where all stitchers, regardless of their style or tastes would be welcomed. Our aim was to incorporate stitching styles from every genre to create the ultimate ‘Big Stitch’ event. We hosted our first event in 2024 (yes it took 2 years to organise) and it was an immediate success. Armed with our passion for all things stitching and a wonderful friendship, both Sami and Linda are working together to bring you these fabulous events.

Linda
Linda is the owner of The Sampler Guild, an international organization founded in 2001 that brings together sampler enthusiasts worldwide. A dedicated sampler recreation stitcher, Linda has a particular passion for 17th-century band samplers, with a strong focus on the historical materials used in their creation. Her research delves into the fascinating world of vegetable dyes, and the stitches and techniques used back then. Linda’s thorough research not only informs her stitching but also shapes the educational content she shares through The Sampler Guild. The Guild offers a variety of resources, including Zoom calls, presentations, and stitching challenges, and it organizes exclusive museum sampler viewing visits for members, along with many other events. Through her dedication to both research and community, Linda continues to lead and inspire the Guild’s growing network of sampler enthusiasts.
